Gentle MICHAEL SMITH brought a new personal perspective to theatre criticism, wrote, directed and acted in plays all over, found Joe Cino after his suicide, and fought to help the Cino survive Joe’s death. Here in 2009 he sweeps the set of his play about the Cino, “Summer Lightning.”
